In Bihar’s Samastipur district, there was a head-on collision between the vehicle of Kalyanpur Police’s Anti-Liquor Task Force (ALTF) team and a car returning from a procession on Tuesday morning. Eleven people, including five policemen, were injured in the accident. The incident took place near Bhatti Chowk on Samastipur-Darbhanga main road under Kalyanpur police station area. The injured policemen include SI Umesh Prasad, in-charge of the ALTF team, besides constables Jeevach Choudhary, Saddam Ali, Dinesh Kumar Thakur and the driver of the vehicle, Sanjeev Kumar.
Seriously injured constable Jeevach Paswan has been admitted to Samastipur Sadar Hospital. While other injured are being treated at Kalyanpur PSC. On the other hand, there is information about the injuries of six people in the car-borne baraatis. Those who are getting their treatment done at different places.
ALTF team constable Jeevach Chaudhary told that it must be around five in the morning. The ALTF team from Jatmalpur was returning back to Kalyanpur police station. Meanwhile, near Bhatti Chowk, he had a direct collision with a car of a wedding procession going from Samastipur. All the five policemen on board the police vehicle were injured in the incident. On the other hand, people in the car were also injured. When there was an attack, the people around gathered and took all the people to Kalyanpur PSC. From where the seriously injured Jeevach Chaudhary was brought to Samastipur Sadar Hospital.
At the same time, the treatment of the injured people is also going on in various hospitals in Kalyanpur and nearby areas. One injured was brought to Sadar Hospital. From where he was referred. However, people also left the place out of fear due to the collision in the police vehicle. The accident vehicle is lying on the spot.
Kalyanpur Police Station President Gautam Kumar told that in the early hours the ALTF team had gone towards Jatmalpur. This accident happened while returning in the morning. All the injured have been sent to Sadar Hospital. It has also come to light that the occupants of the car were injured. Although they have not come forward yet. It is suspected that the accident happened due to sleepiness of the car driver.
